EWAN SCHAFER

I'm Ewan Schafer, Chief Technology Officer at Lumi Space

We're building a global network of satellite laser ranging stations to make science-grade orbit determination the new standard for the space industry.

I don't find myself with much time for hobby projects at the moment but here's a collection of a few fun things that I made a long time ago.

These are some of the very first things I wrote while learning to program! If you're here looking for recent examples of my work please get in touch.

MOON

WebGL simulator of the phases and librations of the moon.

STARS

In astrophysics, almost everything there is to know about a main sequence star can be estimated just by knowing its mass. I attempted to condense all the maths down into a single slider which shows the relative sizes to scale and actual colours of stars of various masses.

SIMPLE JAVASCRIPT ORBIT SIM

My final project for CS50x was a 2D orbit game written in javascript. Using a limited amount of fuel try to get your spacecraft into orbit around the moon.

RANDOMLY GENERATED CAREER ADVICE

Anyone who has spent as long as I have trawling through online job listings will have noticed that people follow a certain formula when thinking up job titles. There are a particular set of words which can be used to make the most soul-destroying work sound important and stimulating. Upon realising this I wrote a page to dish out randomly generated career advice. I find it to be at least as helpful as my high school career advisor was (and more likely to pass the turing test).
